This position requires good interpersonal skills to develop an effective relationship with patients, parents, doctors, team members and community.
Gentle persuasion skills and an understanding of treatment options are required to guide patients and parents and to instill confidence with regards to the orthodontist abilities and results of treatment.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Treatment coordinator duties:
Conduct or assist patient consultation as directed by doctor.
Prepare financial treatment plans, calculate fees based on fee schedules and present plan options to patient.
Taking x-rays and photographic records for patients.
Make all financial arrangements with patient after doctor has left the consultation.
Assist patients with financing options, insurance questions and treatment concerns.
Record chart entries from phone or in-person conversations when appropriate.
Manage charts for treatment plans, treatment conferences, letters and phone calls Follow up with patients in pending status and unscheduled pre-treatment patients Contact new patients before their schedule appointment to address any questions or concerns beforehand.
Maintain consultation and exam rooms.
Liaise with financial coordinator and scheduling coordinator, as needed.
Orthodontic Assistant duties:
Assist orthodontist with various orthodontic procedures.
Sterilizing instruments.
Taking x-rays and photographic records for patients.
