PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES :
The Logistics Coordinator will primarily be responsible for handling shipment bookings & routing requests, preparing domestic and international shipping documents, maintaining shipment tracking reports, and managing logistic vendors to ensure on-time delivery of freight and customer satisfaction while meeting financial requirements, trade compliance, company goals and objectives.
SKILLS/COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
Work closely with carriers, 3PLs and freight forwarders to schedule pick-up and delivery appointments.
Prepare import and export documentations to ensure trade compliance and other forms of import/export regulations and requirements.
Coordinate import and export activities such as customs clearance, logging & tracking of shipments, and organizing import/export files in accordance with US Customs regulations.
Assist internal stakeholders in determining and/or verifying HTS and Schedule B classifications when required.
Work closely with Customer Service and other internal customers to maintain accurate data in ERP system.
Assist in implementing logistics and trade compliance programs, including the establishment and maintenance of company processes and procedures.
Perform other logistics or supply chain related projects and duties as assigned.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
A minimum of 3 years relevant logistics experience in a warehouse environment; associate's degree from a two-year college will be a plus.
Possess basic knowledge of ISF, ACS, ACE, AES, Incoterms, COO certificate and EAR; experience in supporting trade compliance audits and investigations will be a plus.
Strong written and oral communications skills to work effectively across organizations.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to perform duties with tight deadlines under minimal supervision.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment, ability to work effectively under pressure, and to work overtime when needed.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to frequently lift, push and pull up to 20 lbs, for 9-10 hours per day and, on occasion, lift and push up to 60 lbs. This capability will either be determined from a physical exam, or verifiable past performance.
Prolonged standing and/or sitting during a shift (9-10 hours) with frequent reaching, pulling and bending.
